I, Bev Yee, Deputy Minister of Environment and Parks, pursuant to section 6(2) of the Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction Regulation, hereby make the Order in the attached Appendix, being the High-Performance Benchmark and Benchmark Unit Order.

APPENDIX

 

TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION AND EMISSIONS REDUCTION REGULATION

HIGH-PERFORMANCE BENCHMARK AND BENCHMARK UNIT ORDER

 

Definitions

 

  1. In this Order:

 

    1. “Upgrading Alberta complexity weighted barrel” means a standardized volumetric production unit of a facility upgrading bitumen in Alberta, which is used to represent its specified gas emissions potential based on its configuration and processing complexity;

 

    1. “Upgrading” means the processing of bitumen to create a feedstock for further refining.

 

High-performance Benchmark and Benchmark Unit

 

  1. A product listed in the Table below has the respective high-performance benchmark and benchmark unit listed in the Table.
