Gas Utilities Act
|
|
This Act provides the Alberta Utilities Commission with authority to regulate the gas utilities to which the Act applies, including the ability to establish just and reasonable rates. This Act also governs the provision of gas services to customers by gas distributors and default supply providers.

|
|
This regulation is made under the Electric Utilities Act and the Gas Utilities Act and provides for the required conduct and business practices for distributors, regulated rate suppliers and retailers, and the rules regarding the relationships among distributors, regulated rate suppliers and affiliated providers including rules preventing unfair competitive advantage. It also establishes compliance requirements.

Default Gas Supply Regulation
|
|
This regulation is made under the Gas Utilities Act and provides the ability of a gas distributor to authorize a person to act as default supply provider in the gas distributor’s service area subject to the Act and the approval of the Alberta Utilities Commission. It sets out the obligations of the default supply provider to provide a default rate tariff and the information that must be included on bills to customers.

Gas Utilities Designation Regulation
|
|
This regulation is made under the Gas Utilities Act and provides for the designation of certain gas utilities for the purpose of section 1(g.1) of the Act, and for designation of owners of gas utilities to which sections 26 and 27 of the Act apply.

|
This regulation is made under the Gas Utilities Act and provides for exemptions from the operation of section 5 of the Act.

|
This regulation is made under the Gas Utilities Act and establishes the functions and obligations of gas distributors, retailers and default supply providers, and authorizes the Alberta Utilities Commission to establish a settlement system code regarding the provision of gas services and gas distribution service.

Uniform System of Accounting for Natural Gas Utilities
|
|
This regulation is made under the Gas Utilities Act and establishes the uniform system of accounting for natural gas utilities that must be used by owners of natural gas utilities.
