Government Organization Act
|
The Government Organization Act provides for the establishment of Government departments, including the designation of Ministers, appointment of Deputy Ministers, hiring of staff, procurement of expert services, and the formation of boards, committees or councils to advise on and/or carry out matters under the Minister’s administration.
The Act also addresses matters such as the delegation of powers and duties, the development and delivery of programs and services, the formation of agreements, collection of fees, provision of grants, and acquisition/disposition of property. Ministry-specific powers, duties and functions are outlined in the accompanying schedules to the Act .

Advanced Education Grants Regulation
|
The Advanced Education Grants Regulation made under the Government Organization Act provides the Minister of Advanced Education with general authority to make grants to persons or organizations for any purpose related to a program, service or other matter under the administration of the Minister on terms or conditions the Minister considers appropriate.

Agriculture and Forestry Grant Regulation
|
The Agriculture and Forestry Grant Regulation, under the Government Organization Act, provides authority for the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry to make grants in accordance with the Regulation. The Regulation also describes the purposes and uses of grants, refund and repayment, and accountability/reporting requirements.

Authorized Accredited Agencies Regulation
|
This regulation allows the Minister of Municipal Affairs to enter into agreements with Authorized Accredited Agencies to collect fees for permits, conduct inspections and enforce the Safety Codes Act.

Boilers Delegated Administration Regulation
|
This regulation delegates the powers, duties, and functions of safety codes officer under various regulations including: the Pressure Welders Regulation, Pressure Equipment Safety Regulation, and Power Engineers Regulation to the Alberta Boilers Safety Association.

Corporate Registry Document Handling Procedures Regulation
|
Sets out the classification, scope, authority and prohibited actions of service providers, and accredited persons. It also sets out the authority for the Registrar to suspend, reduce or cancel accreditation and establishes the authority for the Registrar to accept electronic formats of prescribed forms.

|

Provides the authority to approve the ordering method for government departments to purchase supplies, develop and implement policies, services and administration procedures in matters pertaining to the disposition of surplus supplies.

|

Elevating Devices, Passenger Ropeways and Amusement Rides Administration Regulation
|
This regulation delegates powers, duties and functions of administrator and safety codes officers respecting elevator, passenger ropeway, and amusement ride safety to the Alberta Elevating Devices and Amusement Rides Safety Association, to ensure that owners are compliant with the Safety Codes Act, regulations, codes and standards.

Employment and Immigration Grant Regulation

This Regulation, made under section 13(2) of the Government Organization Act provides the Minster of Community and Social Services and the Minister of Labour with the ability to make grants and allows the Minister to establish and change conditions to each grant including: The Regulation also requires the return of any unused portion of a grant.

Energy Grants Regulation
|
This regulation is made under the Government Organization Act and authorizes the Minister of Energy to make grants in respect to matters under the Minister’s administration, and establishes funding use and accountability standards for grant recipients.

|
The Finance Grant Regulation allows the President of Treasury Board, Minister of Finance to make grants in accordance with the Regulation, for any purpose related to any program, service or matter under the administration of the Minister of Finance. The Regulation establishes the parameters of the grant under which the Minister of Finance defines eligibility, the grant application process, and determines if a grant is to be repaid in part or in full.

Gaming Grants Regulation
|
Under the Government Organization Act, the Gaming Grants Regulation (GGR) gives authority to the Minister of Indigenous Relations to fulfill First Nation Development Fund Grant Agreements with all First Nations in Alberta. The First Nations Development Fund (FNDF) was established by the Department in accordance with the GGR, the FNDF Grant Agreement, and the First Nations Gaming Policy. There are no other grants that Indigenous Relations administers under the GGR.

Guarantee Regulation
|
The Guarantee Regulation falls under the Government Organization Act (Executive Council) and outlines the process for receiving a loan guarantee from the Province of Alberta, subject to the conditions of section 71 of the Financial Administration Act. The loan guarantees are particularly for housing related costs as listed in section 1 of the Regulation.

|
The Jobs, Economy and Innovation Grant Regulation made under the Government Organization Act provides the Minister of Jobs, Economy and Innovation with general authority to make grants to persons or organizations for any purpose related to a program, service or other matter under the administration of the Minister on terms or conditions the Minister considers appropriate.

Justice and Solicitor General Grants Regulation
|
Under this regulation, the Minister of Justice and Solicitor General is authorized to make grants to a person or organization for any purpose related to any program, service or other matter under the administration of the Minister.

Municipal Affairs Grants Regulation
|
The Municipal Affairs Grants Regulation sets out how the Minister of Municipal Affairs may pay grants, including designating eligibility requirements, how grants may be used, and requirements for repayment of grants, if necessary.

Personal Property Registry Accreditation and Document Handling Regulation
|
Establishes the criteria for all designated documents that have been transmitted to the Registrar for registration in the Personal Property Registry, this includes the information contained in a transmittal and any verification statement or other documents. Establishes the credentials required to accredit individuals who access the Personal Property Registry.

Radiation Health Administration Regulation
|
The Regulation delegates certain powers, duties and functions under the Radiation Protection Act and Radiation Protection Regulation to authorized radiation health administrative organizations and radiation protection agencies according to their authorization agreements.

Records Management Regulation
|
Mandates government wide management of records, identifies program requirements and assigns accountability for the program to the Minister. Defines government organizations subject to the regulation and assigns accountability to deputy heads for the records in their custody or under their control. Establishes the Alberta Records Management Committee, its membership and responsibilities, mandates records retention and disposition schedules and their governance, and control of destruction of records.

Registry Service Charges Regulation
|
Sets the maximum service charges that may be charged by a registry agent for prescribed services.

Registry Services (Non-payment of Fees) Regulation
|
Authorizes Alberta Registries to instruct all registry agents to deny specified types of registrations to persons who owe money to the government. Specifies the notice required if registration is denied and sets the rules for payment, restoration of services and cancellation of registration.

Restricted Activity Authorization Regulation
|
This Regulation authorizes certain defined "service providers" who would not otherwise have the authority to perform the restricted activity of a "psychosocial intervention", or to perform this restricted activity for the purpose of providing addictions counseling in respect of tobacco, alcohol, gambling and drugs.

Transportation Grants Regulation
|
The Transportation Grants Regulation is one of several grants regulations enabled by the Government Organization Act. It repealed and replaced the Transportation and Utilities Grants Regulation in 2003. This Regulation provides broad authority for the Minister of Transportation to make grants for any purpose related any program, service, or other matter under the Minister’s administration. The Regulation also empowers the Minister to require written reports, examination of records and the return of grant money.
