            The Lieutenant Governor in Council

1          approves the exclusion by the Minister of the positions listed in Schedules 1 and 2 of the attached Appendix from the classification plan and establishes the salary rate or ranges for those positions as that set out in those Schedules;

2          orders that the Minister charged with the administration of the Public Service Act or the Minister’s designates, the Deputy Minister of the Executive Council or the Public Service Commissioner, establish

            (a)        the salary applicable for each position listed in Schedules 1 and 2,

            (b)        the date that the salary becomes effective, and

            (c)        the remuneration for persons appointed in an acting capacity to any of the positions listed in Schedules 1 and 2;

3          rescinds Orders in Council numbered O.C. 227/2012 and 318/2012.

The Minister or Deputy Minister of Executive Council may approve compensation beyond the salary rate or ranges on Schedules 1 and 2 in exceptional circumstances or where the salary rate or range maximum for the Senior Official position is or will be an impediment to the recruitment and/or retention of the incumbent.
