Appendix

 

Order

 

1              The Lieutenant Governor in Council orders that, effective May 6, 2013, Jim Ellis is appointed as the executive officer of the transition committee under the Responsible Energy Development Act.

 

2(1)   The Lieutenant Governor in Council orders that, effective May 6, 2013,

 

               (a)     Jim Ellis is entitled to receive, as the executive officer of the transition committee under the Responsible Energy Development Act, remuneration, including benefits, allowances and expenses, equivalent to the remuneration he was entitled to receive as Deputy Minister of Energy immediately before the coming into force of this Order, and

 

               (b)     the Public Service Relocation and Employment Expenses Regulation and the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expense Directive (04/2012) issued by the Treasury Board apply as though Jim Ellis were an employee of the Alberta Public Service.

 

(2)  The Lieutenant Governor in Council orders that, subject to section 3, after the coming into force of section 7 of the Responsible Energy Development Act, Jim Ellis continues to be entitled, as the Chief Executive Officer of the Alberta Energy Regulator, to receive the remuneration under subsection (1).

 

3    Section 2 ceases to have effect when the board of directors of the Alberta Energy Regulator, in accordance with section 7(1)(b) of the Responsible Energy Development Act, determines the remuneration to be paid to the Chief Executive Officer.

 

4    Prior to the coming into force of section 7 of the Responsible Energy Development Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council may exercise the powers referred to in section 20(1)(b) of the Interpretation Act in respect of the executive officer of the transition committee.

 

5    After the coming into force of section 7 of the Responsible Energy Development Act, the board of directors of the Alberta Energy Regulator may exercise the powers referred to in section 20(1)(b) of the Interpretation Act in respect of the Chief Executive Officer of the Alberta Energy Regulator.
