taxes, penalties and costs must pay them to Kneehill County,
(c)	for the purposes of taxation in 2013,
(i)	the assessor for Kneehill County must assess the annexed land and the 
assessable improvements to it, and 
(ii)	the Town of Three Hills must tax the annexed land and the assessable 
improvements to it in accordance with the Order in Appendix C,
(d)	subject to clause (b), taxes payable in 2013 in respect of the annexed land 
and the assessable improvements to it are to be paid to and retained by the

(e)	the assessor for the Town of Three Hills must assess, for the purposes of

APPENDIX C
ORDER
1	In this Order, "annexed land" means the land described in Appendix A and 
shown on the sketch in Appendix B.
2(1)	For taxation purposes in 2013 and subsequent years up to and including 
December 31, 2032, the annexed land and the assessable improvements to it must be 
taxed by the Town of Three Hills using
(a)	the municipal tax rate established by Kneehill County, or 
(b)	the municipal tax rate established by the Town of Three Hills,
whichever is lower, for property of the same assessment class.
(2)	For taxation purposes in 2014 and subsequent years up to and including 
December 31, 2032, the annexed land and the assessable improvements to it must be 
assessed by the Town of Three Hills on the same basis as if they had remained in 
Kneehill County.
3	Where, in any taxation year development and building permits are issued on a 
portion of the annexed land for a non-agricultural use in accordance with the Town of 
Three Hills' Land Use Bylaw, section 2 ceases to apply to that portion of the annexed 
land and the assessable improvements to it.
4	Where in any taxation year up to and including 2032, a portion of the annexed 
land becomes a new parcel of land as a result of subdivision, section 2 ceases to apply 
at the end of that taxation year in respect of that portion of the annexed land the 
assessable improvements to it, other than land that is issued a development permit for 
use for extensive agriculture, greenhouse, plant nursery or market garden, as defined 
within the Town of Three Hills' Land Use Bylaw.
5	After section 2 ceases to apply to the annexed land in a taxation year, that portion 
of the annexed land and the assessable improvements to it must be assessed and taxed 
for the purposes of property taxes in the following year in the same manner as other 
property of the same assessment class in the Town of Three Hills is assessed and 
taxed.
