Schedule A

CRITERIA FOR GRANT AGREEMENTS

Newcomer Integration Grants

Purpose/Objective

To support newcomers (immigrants, including refugees) on their pathway to integration and labour market attachment, the aim of these grants is to take a needs-focused and flexible approach to filling gaps in the system and being responsive to emerging issues.

The objective is to contribute to the integration of newcomers to Alberta through projects that complement the suite of services and programs provided by other stakeholders.

Outcomes

In working towards the goal of newcomer integration in the community and workplace, and understanding that integration is a two-way process that benefits newcomers and the community, the outcomes of these grants are:

Service-providing organizations meet the needs of newcomers; and

        Communities and workplaces welcome newcomers.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, community groups, post-secondary institutions, municipalities and other public sector organizations, indigenous organizations, and registered corporations.

Eligible clients and beneficiaries include permanent residents (including refugees), naturalized Canadian Citizens, refugee claimants, communities, workplaces, and organizations which provide services to newcomers.

To be eligible, projects must be time-limited, be aligned with the requirements of the applicable Call for Proposals, and include an evaluation plan to measure impact.
