Vital Statistics Act
|
Provides for the legal registration of all Alberta births, stillbirths, deaths, marriages, adoptions and change of name. Also provides for alterations and corrections to the records, issuance of burial permits, certificates, copies, and searches of records and compilation of a statistical report.

Sets the type of information required to prove the occurrence of vital events before they are registered; regulates the evidence to amend a record and who it may be provided by; sets the responsibilities of a hospital administrator or funeral director associated with registering an event; identifies the regulatory detail regarding disinterment permits; and sets the government fee schedule for Vital Statistics.
