The Act enables the Crown to recover health services costs for personal injuries resulting from wrongful acts or omissions and for damage caused or contributed to by a tobacco-related wrong.

Crown's Right of Recovery (Ministerial) Regulation

This Regulation sets out how the Crown’s cost of health services are calculated for the purposes of the Crown’s right of recovery when a person suffers personal injuries as a result of another’s wrongful act or omission. It also sets out the information required to be provided by an insurer who is notified of circumstances in which the Crown’s right of recovery may arise, other than circumstances relating to the use of an automobile.

Crown's Right of Recovery (President of Treasury Board and Finance) Regulation

The Crown's Right of Recovery (President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance) Regulation provides the calculation for the assessment factor to be charged on automobile insurance premiums written in a calendar year for the purposes of recovering health costs from insurers in accordance with Division 2 of Part I of the Crown’s Right of Recovery Act. The Regulation also establishes the date by which automobile insurers are required to pay the recovery amount to the Crown, the penalty for failing to pay on time, and the calculation of interest to be charged on an unpaid amount and penalty.

Crown's Right of Recovery Regulation

This Regulation prescribes goods and services as health services, and sets out exceptions to the Crown’s right to recover health care costs.
