Emergency Health Services Act

The Act sets out that the regional health authority provides emergency health services which includes dispatch and ground ambulance services in the health region. It creates a framework for a coordinated, provincial system of emergency health services.

Emergency Health Services (Interim) Regulation

This Regulation limits the scope of the Act; establishes categories of ambulance attendants; sets out powers, duties and functions of the Provincial Medical Director, medical directors and the Registrar; establishes the Ambulance Vehicle Standards Code January 2010; and makes modifications to the Staff, Vehicle and Equipment Regulation (AR 45/1999) and the Licensing and Ambulance Maintenance Regulation (46/1999). A recent amendment extended the expiry date by two years to enable work to be completed on a new single replacement regulation.
