APPROPRIATION (SUPPLEMENTARY
SUPPLY) ACT, 2019

Preamble

WHEREAS it appears by a Message from the Administrator of the Province of Alberta, and the Supplementary Supply Estimates accompanying the Message, that the sums hereinafter mentioned are required to defray certain charges and expenses of the Legislative Assembly and the Public Service of Alberta not otherwise provided for during the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019 and for other purposes relating thereto:

MAY IT THEREFORE PLEASE YOUR MAJESTY that it be enacted and be it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, as follows:

Legislative Assembly

1   From the General Revenue Fund, there may be paid and applied a sum of $8 874 000 towards defraying the further charges and expenses of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019, not otherwise provided for, as shown in Schedule A, which was provided by Special Warrant 03/2019 referred to in Schedule B.

Expenses

2   From the General Revenue Fund, there may be paid and applied a sum of $448 925 000 towards defraying the further charges and expenses of the Public Service classed as expense for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019, not otherwise provided for, as shown in Schedule A, which was provided by Special Warrant 01/2019 referred to in Schedule B and adjusted by section 5.

Capital Investment

3   From the General Revenue Fund, there may be paid and applied a sum of $52 628 000 towards defraying the further charges and expenses of the Public Service classed as capital investment for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019, not otherwise provided for, as shown in Schedule A, which was provided by Special Warrant 01/2019 referred to in Schedule B.

Financial Transactions

4   From the General Revenue Fund, there may be paid and applied a sum of $362 062 000 towards defraying the further charges and expenses of the Public Service classed as financial transactions for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019, not otherwise provided for, as shown in Schedule A, which was provided by Special Warrant 01/2019 referred to in Schedule B.

Adjustments

5(1)  This section adjusts amounts classed as expense in Special Warrant 01/2019.

(2)  The aggregate amount classed as expense is reduced by the sum of $8 993 000.

(3)  The amount classed as expense for the Department of Service Alberta is reduced by $8 993 000.

(4)  The adjustments made by this section are deemed to have had effect on March 29, 2019.

Transfers

6(1)  The sum of $2 600 000 in the capital investment vote of the Department of Service Alberta is transferred to the expense vote of the Department of Service Alberta.

(2)  The sum of $3 143 000 in the expense vote of the Department of Advanced Education is transferred to the expense vote of the Department of Service Alberta.

(3)  The sum of $3 000 000 in the expense vote of the Department of Community and Social Services is transferred to the expense vote of the Department of Service Alberta.

(4)  The sum of $250 000 in the expense vote of the Department of Indigenous Relations is transferred to the expense vote of the Department of Service Alberta.

Accountability

7   The due application of all money expended under this Act shall be accounted for.
